New digital healthcare directory puts HBF members in driver’s seat
Health insurer, HBF has partnered with digital health innovator, HealthShare to help its 1 million members identify the most appropriate and affordable healthcare for their needs.
In collaboration with HealthShare, HBF’s new and improved online directory of hospitals and healthcare professionals (including specialists and allied health practitioners) is now live and available here hbf.com.au/health-insurance/find-a-provider.
The new directory, powered by HealthShare and housed on HBF’s website, will give HBF members access to a new level of detailed information to inform their choice of hospital and healthcare provider, such as:
- The agreements that hospitals have with HBF and the subsequent benefits for members;
- Specialists’ sub-specialities, special interest areas, languages spoken, hospital affiliations, capacity for urgent appointments and their agreements with HBF to minimise out-of-pocket costs; and
- Allied health practitioners’ agreements with HBF and the associated member benefits.
Importantly, the HealthShare-powered directory is also available to 90% of Australian GPs, meaning HBF members and their GPs will have the same information at-hand at the point of referral.
HBF Executive General Manager – Member Experience, Selina Torrance said: “This new directory will help our members navigate the healthcare system with ease, with a level of detail that puts our members much more in the driver’s seat when making important healthcare decisions.”
“It forms part of the investments we are making in our digital platforms to ensure members get maximum value from their health insurance with HBF.”
HealthShare is an established leader in the healthcare provider directory space and is highly experienced in the nuanced health insurance market.
HealthShare Co-Founder, Rami Weiss, commented: “We are thrilled to partner with HBF and we share common values to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health. We now partner with 30 Australian health insurance funds, so we are broadly invested in supporting health fund members and their GPs through our digital platform. We’ve seen strong growth in member and GP engagement with health fund filtered information through the 850,000 unique visitors accessing the HealthShare platform each month.”
